In the bustling metropolis of New York City, where nations worldwide convened during the United Nations General Assembly week, a resounding belief in India's approach and leadership toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) emerged. On the sidelines of the UNGA week, several high-level discussions were organised. During events jointly hosted by the Reliance Foundation, Observer Research Foundation, the United Nations India office, and the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations on September 22nd and 23rd, several key insights were highlighted. These discussions shed light on India's progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing a valuable blueprint for a more sustainable future.
Prominent speakers in attendance included S. Jaishankar, India's Minister of External Affairs, Ms. Ruchira Kamboj, India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ms. Kamina Johnson Smith, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade for Jamaica, Mr. Hugh Hilton Todd, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the Republic of Guyana, Mr. João Gomes Cravinho, the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Portugal, as well as Mr. Jagannatha Kumar, CEO of the Reliance Foundation, Mr. Shombi Sharp, the UN Resident Coordinator in India, and Mr. Samir Saran, President of ORF.
